How does SpinVox Voicemail work?

When you receive a voicemail message, SpinVox technology converts the voicemail audio into a text message that can be sent directly to you. You can choose to have the conversion sent to you as an SMS/Text message to your cell phone, as an email message, or as an IM (Instant Message) to your IM client.


What else does a SpinVox Voicemail account do?

Your account includes a web voicemail box to view and listen to messages. You can upload a personal greeting, change your settings, and manage your account on the web. You can also access and manage your account over the phone.

How do I check my voicemail messages?

SpinVox Voicemail automatically forwards converted messages directly to you via SMS, Email, or IM. You can always check your voicemail in your web voicemail box or by dialing 1-800-875-9156 and entering your PIN from any phone.


Why do I get several SMS messages per voicemail?

SMS accommodates up to approximately 150 characters. Voice messages that exceed this limit are broken into several SMS messages. Up to three SMS messages will be delivered for longer voicemail messages. The full audio message will be available in your web voicemail box.

How do I set up my phone to work with SpinVox Voicemail?

You'll need to make sure your cell phone is set up correctly by dialing the appropriate activation code that enables unanswered calls to be directed to SpinVox Voicemail for conversion.

Do airtime charges apply for calls forwarded to SpinVox Voicemail?

Some cell providers count forwarded calls as airtime, others charge a flat rate, and some do not charge a fee. Please check with your cell provider.


What does it mean if I see '(?)' in a converted message?

If SpinVox can't decipher a word in a voicemail message you will see '(?)' after the word - this is to show that the word has been spelled phonetically.


Will I be charged for the SMS messages?

Your voicemail conversions are considered regular SMS messages by your cell provider. You may be charged according to your cell phone service plan.

If you select email only, SMS messages are not sent.


Does SpinVox Voicemail work with Blackberry devices?

Yes. You can receive converted messages as email messages on your Blackberry device. If you choose email delivery only with a Blackberry device (recommended) you would not incur SMS charges from your cell provider.


Why doesn't the "new voicemail" indicator on my phone display that I have a new voicemail message even though I do?

SpinVox Voicemail uses your phone's SMS indicator instead of its new voicemail indicator.
